The art of shooting, or about the trigger
In order for the shot to be fired, you need to press the trigger. Everyone knows and can do this, such an action is not difficult for anyone. However, if you simultaneously hold the line of sight and maintain its location in the center of the target, pulling the trigger is a rather complicated task. Sequentially smooth descent of the trigger is a simple technique, but mastering it is not so easy.
In order for the shot to be fired, you need to press the trigger. Everyone knows and can do this, such an action is not difficult for anyone.
However, if you simultaneously hold the line of sight and maintain its location in the center of the target, pulling the trigger is a rather complicated task. After all, the human body cannot be in a static position for a long time due to processes that occur, for example, in the internal organs (the work of the heart muscle, pulsation, moving center of gravity, etc.). The trigger must be pressed in accordance with the scope of the weapon oscillation relative to the aiming point. Sights – be it optics or an open sight – are approaching the center of the target, the pressure on the trigger is enhanced. The scope goes to the side, deviates from the center of the target, the pressure on the hook stops or weakens. This is a sequentially smooth trigger release. This technique is simple, but mastering it is not so easy. It is necessary that the work of the finger on the trigger be coordinated with the impressions received by the visual apparatus during aiming.
how to shoot a gun
To clarify and aim, as you know, you need to hold your breath, otherwise there will be no (relative) immobility. Breathing is a process that affects the holding of a weapon. Holding our breath, we stop the flow of oxygen into the blood, and all reactions in the body occur with the participation of this chemical element. But the main thing is that with a decrease in the oxygen content in the blood, visual acuity also decreases, and the rate of reactions proceeds. Our brain enters into a stressful state and begins to take oxygen from the least important organs in order to ensure its work. Therefore, in a stationary position and with a held breath, a person cannot be for a long time, while aiming and pulling the trigger. All this is possible only due to the so-called stability. It depends on the amount of labor invested. In addition, by pulling the trigger, we must carry out this in such a way that the shot occurs unexpectedly. However, shooting at a target that is ready to change the direction of movement or even completely disappear from the hunter’s visibility range, excitement forces the shooter to carry out tougher retention, quick aiming, neglecting, perhaps, the accuracy of the aiming of the weapon, and in the accelerated plan to pull the trigger. Most often, because of this, misses occur.
The work of the finger on the trigger should be smooth, and the trigger release method may be different. In addition, the tension and trigger mechanism for each weapon is individual. The shooter should get used to it, but this happens very quickly – just pull the trigger a few times idle and it will be clear how to pull the trigger. You can also pre-select a warning – free play, and then, holding your breath, squeeze the descent at the same time as aiming. Or, if there is no free play, feel the trigger with the pulp of the last phalanx of the finger. Next, we live the flesh, putting effort into the trigger pull, concentrate on the aiming pattern, press the trigger. Freewheeling, by the way, may simply not exist – on some models of weapons it is not provided. But, I repeat, getting used to all these features is very fast.
So, the aiming is not yet completed, the shooter refines the position of the front sight in the slot, and the index finger on the trigger already selects part of the working stroke. I emphasize that even before the tip is clarified, the finger must be in a tense state, that is, it is included in the weapon retention scheme. Then comes the final stage, during which the tip is specified, and at the same time, the shooter presses down the trigger.
What prevents the correct operation of the finger on the trigger? First of all – the psychological burden. This is a component that will destroy all our actions if we fail to overcome it. Let’s try to explain this. The human body is designed in such a way that it is most afraid of unexpected manifestations, including shots. However, we say: the shot should be unexpected. How does all this fit together? The fact is that by sharply pressing the trigger, our body gets rid of the factor of surprise, the psychological dominant is removed. But with a sharp movement of the finger on the trigger, the aiming line is lost, the bullet deviates more or less significantly from the center of the target, depending on how hard the shooter does.
